Baseball is officially back! The Atlanta Braves home opener is on April 1st against the Chicago Cubs at SunTrust Park. Baseball season is a fun time for #Atlanta residents and visitors. To make your visit the most enjoyable, here are some things you should know beforehand.
Parking
It is strongly encouraged to purchase your parking pass online beforehand. Day of game parking will not be available for online purchase starting two and a half hours before first pitch. If you miss buying your parking pass online, read here for the lots that will accept on-site payment by credit card if spaces are available. Drop offs are permitted near Third Base Gate at the Battery Delta Deck, located off of Battery Avenue. For Uber specific drop off and pick up locations, click here. For your convenience, the Braves have partnered with Waze to navigate you directly to your parking lot - this will be your easiest GPS option.
Tailgating
Tailgating is only allowed in parking lot N29. If you plan on grilling, you can only do so in the grass and large tents must have prior authorization. Open containers aren't allowed out of the lot. This lot will remain unlocked for two hours after each regular season game.
Prohibited Items
Alcoholic beverages, aluminum cans, glass bottles, bats, bags, purses or backpacks exceeding 16"x16"x8", coolers, camera lenses exceeding 5 inches, camera tripods, folding chairs or tables, fireworks, firearms, other weapons (knives, pepper spray, tasers/etc.), bullhorns/noise makers, confetti, balloons, beach balls, laser devices or pointers, drones, skateboards, hover boards, rollerblades, etc.
Each guest is permitted to bring one bag into the ballpark as long as they do not exceed the size listed above. All bags will be subject to inspection upon entry. Outside food IS allowed into SunTrust Park as long as it fits in a clear, gallon-size container. Sealed plastic bottles of water are allowed too. One bag and water bottle per ticket.
Restaurants
If you are looking to grab lunch or dinner before the game, we encourage visiting The Battery Atlanta for their large selection of restaurants. If you visit prior to the game, you can park in the Battery Red Deck on a first come, first served basis for free for up to four hours before 2 PM and up to two hours after 2 PM. Visitors who park longer than two hours will be charged up to $50, but can receive validation by spending a minimum of $50 among various restaurants at The Battery Atlanta. Click here for a list of eateries at The Battery.
Rain Delay or Rain Out
The SunTrust Park rain out or rain delay is managed under the Major League Baseball (MLB) legal rules. For a list of this policy, click here.
